Our Own Office: The Backsplash is Done!
Ta-da! Now, I know I still need to style it and we need to get the rest of the finish carpentry done (a trim piece is going on to hide the under cabinet lighting and the baseboards are still off). But I feel so much better seeing this part done – we’re almost there! We even just put up some art for the bathroom so that would start to feel more finished too. We got this vintage photography reprint off of etsy in a super large format and hung it between pieces of plexi glass. The scale is SO good!
Below you can really see how the chrome faucet pops in front of the dark backsplash.
And finally – I love the small details. We’ve integrated Adorne’s combination of an outlet and two USB ports into the kitchenette area. This makes the space really functional. We can plug in the coffee maker and leave USB ports open for last minute charging of phones and iPads. I love the functionality of it; but of course, being a designer I love the aesthetics. The devices are grey and the switchplate is a ‘dark burnished pewter’ (real metal! no plastic here!) that integrates into the backsplash I think rather well!
