Weekend Find: Part 1 of 2 – Todd’s Farm
It’s amazing all the things you think you can accomplish in a weekend. We had a weekend with some plans, but not much work I was trying to cram in, so of course I turned my attentions to the house – and the ugly manilla folder colored guest bath that we never got to painting when we moved in 2 years ago. Poor leftover space. Must have felt left out. We were talking about some paint and replacing the sink base. Nothing was overtly bad, it’s not like we had bubblegum blue or pink tile. But still – a little color and a better than builder grade cabinet would be nice. I couldn’t decide on a color for myself so I tabled the idea until something inspired me.
Sunday morning brought great weather, so we pulled ourselves out of bed super early, packed up Cooper and headed to Todd’s Farm Flea Market in Rowley. I was on a bottle hunt (shocker!) but didn’t find anything. We were about to leave when I saw the pair of paintings below. I looked at them in passing and laughed, thinking they were horrid. Another glance I revised my thinking; thinking they were super kitsch ….. then again really thinking how tacky fabulous they were! (amazing how that is such a fine line). Apparently some lady in her 80’s on Florida painted them … or so I was told. I scored them for $15 each. Nothing like a fabulous find to put you in a good mood. Now I had something for my guest bath! I promptly busted out all my paint chips (avoiding yard work) and started looking at sink bases and mirror sizes. Sample paint pots procured. Stay tuned for checking out my paint color options!
