Farmhouse Fixer: The Beals Family
This HGTV Farmhouse Fixer project was the renovation of a 100+ year old dairy farm. The key for this project was to meld the needs of the past with with the needs of the present. Giving the homeowners a spacious kitchen with an island, while utilizing all reclaimed materials from the property anchors the project and sets up the driving goals of melding old and new. Carving out a Mudroom, Laundry and Full Bathroom off the kitchen gives the efficiency this home needs, while the materials selections drive home the farmhouse feel we didn’t want to loose. Breaking through the old exterior wall to open up the Kitchen/Dining to the new Living Room modernized the home while choosing to leave the ceiling exposed successfully made the space not take on a too new feel.
